We are committed to breaking down barriers so that everyone can take part in volunteering and community life. By removing obstacles and creating inclusive opportunities, we help ensure people feel welcome, valued and able to contribute.

Barriers to participation can take many forms, including financial pressures, accessibility challenges, discrimination or a lack of confidence and support. These barriers can prevent people from taking part in opportunities that could benefit their wellbeing, skills and sense of belonging. Addressing them is essential to creating fairer, more inclusive communities.

Our approach focuses on identifying and removing these barriers in practical ways. This includes designing flexible and accessible opportunities, providing the right support and working closely with individuals to understand what they need to take part. We recognise that one size does not fit all, and that meaningful inclusion requires thoughtful, tailored approaches.

We work alongside communities and partners to create environments where everyone has the opportunity to get involved. By listening, adapting and challenging inequality where it exists, we help open up pathways for people who may have been excluded. Through this work, we are helping to build communities where participation is accessible to all and everyone has the chance to contribute and thrive.
