A National Lottery Community Funded project. Through the engagement of volunteers, we support older people (50+) living in the CH8 area of Holywell who are experiencing feelings of social isolation and loneliness.

Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, our project supports older people (50+) in Flintshire, Wales who are experiencing social isolation and loneliness. Through the engagement of dedicated volunteers, we provide companionship, build confidence, and encourage greater connection with the local community.

Our flexible approach ensures participants can access services tailored to their individual needs, empowering them to lead more fulfilling, connected lives. Together, we’re fostering a sense of belonging and strengthening community bonds.

  • One-to-one befriending – delivered in the person’s home or over the telephone
  • Community buddying – providing support to engage in community activities through guidance around venue locations, transport options and initial accompaniment to activities where required
  • The establishment of volunteer-led group activities in community settings or via telephone networks, identified through individual needs, interests, and gaps in existing services.
