Walk Group Organiser (Forth Valley)
Help people stay active, connected and supported by coordinating a friendly community walking group. Play a key role in reducing isolation and improving wellbeing across Forth Valley.
RSVP Forth Valley is part of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme, a community-led initiative supporting people aged 50+ to stay active, build connections and improve their health and wellbeing through volunteering.
Our Walking Group meets four times a week in local outdoor spaces, offering relaxed, inclusive walks for a range of abilities. As a Volunteer Organiser, you will support the smooth running and development of the group, working closely with Volunteer Walk Leaders and partners to ensure activities are safe, welcoming and well organised.
This role involves coordinating walk schedules, supporting volunteers and participants, helping maintain health and safety standards, and contributing to a positive, inclusive environment. It is a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference while being part of a supportive community.

- Support and work alongside Volunteer Walk Leaders, providing guidance and
coordination where needed - Lead on maintaining Walking Group Registers, and publishing the Quarterly
Schedule in collaboration with Volunteer Walk Leaders - Lead on ensuring health and safety procedures are followed including the
suitability of routes, in collaboration with Volunteer Walk Leaders - Lead on onboarding new Volunteer Walk Leaders and participants, ensuring all
feel welcomed, informed, and supported - Liaise with Walking Scotland where required to access Walk Leader/First Aid
training opportunities, resources, and best practice guidance - Occasionally take part in, or lead, walks if you wish
- Attend meetings of the RSVP Forth Valley Organisers Group (normally quarterly)
- Provide information and basic statistics when requested by Volunteering Matters
- Some administrative tasks on a computer, such as emails and record keeping
- Occasionally take part in, or lead, walks if you wish
*All of these tasks are negotiable, and full support will be provided at all times
- Good organisational, people, and communication skills
- Confidence working with volunteers and members of the public
- An understanding of (or willingness to learn about) health and safety
- Basic computer skills (email, documents, simple record keeping)
- A friendly, inclusive approach and enthusiasm for community wellbeing
- Experience of volunteering or organising activities is helpful but not essential.
- All ongoing help, guidance and support provided by other Volunteer Organisers as
well as via our parent charity, Volunteering Matters - A rewarding role where your contribution has a visible and positive impact
