This week, we’re celebrating Volunteers’ Week and recognising the incredible contribution volunteers make to communities across the UK.

Every day, thousands of volunteers give their time, skills and experience to support others, build connections and create positive change. Whether it’s helping someone feel less isolated, supporting young people to achieve their potential, improving health and wellbeing, or strengthening local communities, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.

At Volunteering Matters, we believe volunteering has the power to transform lives. It brings people together, builds confidence, creates opportunities and helps communities thrive. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, each bringing their own experiences, perspectives and strengths to make a difference.

Throughout Volunteers’ Week, we’ll be sharing stories, celebrating achievements and highlighting the impact volunteers have across our projects. We’ll also be exploring the many ways volunteering helps create more connected, inclusive communities where everyone has the opportunity to contribute, belong and thrive.

To every volunteer who supports Volunteering Matters – thank you. Your commitment, compassion and dedication make a lasting difference to people’s lives every day.

Check back throughout the week as we share stories, reflections and celebrations from volunteers, colleagues and communities across the UK.
