Community Connectors works to better understand how people in Ipswich engage with physical activity. By listening to lived experiences in Belstead Hills, Gainsborough, and Whitton, we aim to shape more inclusive, accessible ways for communities to get active.

We’re excited to launch our new Community Connectors project for 2025. This project is a collaboration with Active Suffolk and Sport England.

This initiative is all about listening. Based in three Ipswich communities — Belstead Hills, Gainsborough, and Whitton — our Community Connectors are out and about, having everyday conversations with local people.

Whatever the answer, our Connectors are there to listen and record these lived experiences. The insights they gather help paint a clearer picture of each community’s needs, challenges, and ideas.

This valuable feedback is then shared with our partners and local networks. This helps shape more inclusive, accessible opportunities for people to get active in ways that work for them.

Because when we listen, we learn. And when we learn, we grow stronger, together.
