Peta is the Chair of Volunteering Matters and brings a deep commitment to public service, backed by extensive leadership experience in the NHS, higher education, and charitable sectors. She has a proven track record of guiding organisations through complex change, with a particular focus on the wellbeing of people and on governance at Board level.

Peta is well known for her voluntary leadership; she is currently Senior Independent Trustee on the Board of the NHS Confederation and served as Chair of The Wildlife Trusts from 2017 to 2022. A passionate advocate of youth social action, she actively supports the #iwill Movement, which encourages young people to take on leadership roles and drive positive change in their communities. Peta has always been a grass-roots volunteer wherever she has lived, epitomising the contributions made by volunteers at Volunteering Matters.
