Volunteer Centre Newcastle
Volunteer Centre Newcastle connects people and organisations to strengthen volunteering across the city. It increases the quality, reach and impact of volunteering in local communities.
Funded by Newcastle City Council, Volunteer Centre Newcastle supports over 1,200 charities, community groups and organisations, as well as hundreds of local people each year to get involved in volunteering. It exists to ensure volunteering remains a powerful force for community change across the city.
The centre champions volunteering by raising awareness of local needs and opportunities, while helping individuals find roles that match their interests, skills and experience. Its citywide volunteering database plays a key role in connecting people to causes that matter to them.
Alongside this, the centre provides practical support to organisations, from recruiting volunteers to improving best practice. By connecting people and places, it helps build stronger, more resilient communities through volunteering.
Whether volunteers are working full-time, part-time or are currently unemployed, retired, or in education we try to find opportunities to suit them.
Volunteering brings so much to the volunteer, from improved confidence to heightened social experience and employability, and all of our opportunities provide something unique.
We support volunteers looking to find suitable roles, as well as those responsible for recruiting, managing or training volunteers within an organisation.
