For volunteers aged 50+ in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex
They support many charities from orphanages and families abroad to small projects at home. The range of knitting and stitching groups in diverse situations reflect the whole community.
Regular meetings are held to give volunteers the opportunity to socialise with other knitters, compare knitting projects and have a tea or coffee. The opportunity for social interaction has an overall positive effect for older people’s health and well-being.

As a volunteer, you will receive:
- The opportunity to use your knitting skills for a worthwhile cause
- The opportunity to socialise and have a “blether” with other knitters at our regular coffee mornings
- Free wool and patterns mostly paid for by income from knitting Smoothie hats
- Knitting advice and suggestions.
RSVP in the East of England region has a wide-ranging network of knitting and stitching groups across Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. The members knit and sew exclusively for charities and others in need of help.
