This is just the beginning: launching our new strategy

Today we launch our new five-year strategy, a bold and collaborative vision shaped by staff, volunteers, partners and communities. It sets out the changes we want to see across loneliness, wellbeing, inclusion, community power and social connection. Rooted in social justice and powered by volunteers, this strategy will guide how we work, grow and lead change together. This is just the beginning.

In our special Volunteers’ Week podcast, now available to watch, we bring together a vibrant panel of volunteers, from teenagers to retirees, each sharing their unique journey and the powerful ripple effects of their actions.

An exciting new chapter for Volunteering Matters

To enhance the impact of our work and streamline our efforts, we are integrating our sub-brands Volunteering Works, ProjectScotland, and GetTheGen into the main Volunteering Matters brand.

PROJECT

Flintshire Befrienders

A National Lottery Community Funded project. Through the engagement of volunteers, we support older people (50+) living in Flintshire who are experiencing feelings of social isolation and loneliness.

PROJECT

Bloom

Bloom in Nuneaton aims to help women feel less isolated and promote health, well-being, and community connection for those unfamiliar with the UK system, including housing, education, health, and law.

OPPORTUNITY

Community Befriender (Flintshire)

We’re looking for friendly, compassionate people to join our Flintshire Befrienders Project as Community Befrienders and Community Buddies. By giving just an hour of your time each week, you could help transform the life of an older person experiencing loneliness.
