For people aged 50+, our walk schedule encourages people to participate in our popular weekly walks in Stirling and the surrounding area.


Volunteer and join our team of Walk Leaders. You will have a positive effect on older people’s health and wellbeing by leading physical exercise and social interaction.

You will encourages people to participate in our popular weekly walks in Stirling and the surrounding area. Our walking groups meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and offer older people the chance of regular exercise and the opportunity to meet new friends.

  • To lead a walk group with a “buddy” leader
  • To contribute to planning the next walk schedule on a quarterly basis
  • To reconnoitre and be aware of the condition of paths etc. prior to a walk to ensure the health and safety of walkers.

  • A reasonable level of physical fitness
  • Ability to seek out new walks, and to reconnoitre and be aware of the condition of paths
  • Good communication and people skills
  • Commitment.

As a volunteer, you will receive:

  • Relevant walk leader and health and safety training where necessary
  • Ongoing help and support from the Walk group organiser
  • Volunteer insurance cover
  • Travel expenses.
