As a Volunteer Mentor, you will be paired with a parent who currently faces barriers to employment or moving on in life. Your role will involve meeting with your mentee regularly, for example once per week, in the local community. Helping parents to set and work on goals, you may provide emotional, social and practical support in a number of ways.
You could support parents to become work-ready, help improve English skills, build confidence and soft-skills, or help with vocational activities such as CV writing, job search etc. Activities that you take part in will depend on the individual, but we will support you as a Volunteer Mentor every step of the way.
You will be matched with a parent based on shared interests and your experience, skills and preferences. Volunteering Matters will be on hand to provide all relevant training, resources and support, during your volunteering experience.
