Thank you again to players of People’s Postcode Lottery!

£750,000 is helping us to reach thousands of vulnerable older people at risk of loneliness and isolation across the UK!

At Volunteering Matters we are extremely grateful to players of People’s Postcode Lottery for their ongoing support. Earlier this year we received an amazing grant for £750,000, which is helping us to reach thousands of vulnerable older people at risk of loneliness and isolation across the UK.

This year, more than ever, their support has been crucial. It has allowed us to adapt our projects, recruit even more volunteers and ensure our beneficiaries continue to receive dedicated support.

For example, in Brighton, our LifeLines project has partnered with Sing Well to run twice-weekly online singing sessions for people regardless of their confidence (or perceived skills). Last month the group was delighted when singer and People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson also appeared on their screens.

Here is a video of Danyl taking part!

Our virtual Sing Well group is one of a number of activities we have launched this year to help people stay connected. Getting Together Matters has a range of online activities that our volunteers are offering these include Pilates classes, quizzes, regular coffee mornings and ‘Armchair Travel’ experiences to name a few.

None of this would have been possible without the support of players of People’s Postcode Lottery. Thank you!
