Becoming a Trustee for Volunteering Matters is a natural continuation of my decades in voluntary and charity work. It’s a hugely rewarding role, giving me the chance to support an organisation that empowers thousands of volunteers to make a real difference in communities across the UK. I’m proud to help shape its future and ensure every voice is heard as we work together to build stronger, more inclusive communities – Moawia Bin-Sufyan, Trustee
Commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
We are committed to building a Board of Trustees that reflects the diversity of the communities we work with and support. We believe that a broad range of perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds strengthens our governance and enhances our ability to make well-informed decisions.
We actively encourage applications from individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and communities – particularly those who are currently underrepresented in charity leadership, including people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ individuals, disabled people, and those with lived experience relevant to our work.
We value the unique contributions that each person brings and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where all Trustees feel respected, supported, and able to thrive.
Being a trustee for Volunteering Matters is great. I meet people who are passionate and committed to making a difference. And I see the impact that volunteering has on communities across the country. I am happy to support the organisation – Katie Farrington, Trustee
For me, my role as a trustee of Volunteering Matters is a real privilege and an opportunity to make a tangible difference to communities across the UK. As well as challenging, I have been challenged and learned much from diverse and amazing team of colleagues. So if you believe in the power of volunteering and can help with the continuing success of our work please do apply – Julie-Anne Jamieson, Trustee
I joined Volunteering Matters as a Trustee because I wanted to work alongside an organisation that truly recognises the power of volunteering – not just in theory, but in practice. Hearing about the incredible work volunteers do across the UK is deeply inspiring, and I love how the organisation cares so much about the communities it works in, developing volunteer-led solutions with local people to make a real difference for everyone – Sacha Hamed, Trustee
