We are looking for Volunteer Mentors to support young people in various secondary schools across the City of Edinburgh. In this role, you’ll help a young person to become more self-confident and reflective, helping them to recognise their strengths and skills, enhance their aspirations, gain new experiences, and ultimately putting steps in place to support young people reach their goals.
Mentoring with ProjectScotland is a unique opportunity to help a young person overcome any challenges they face, and to support them to work out their next steps.
Your role will involve meeting a young person regularly, normally once a week, in the school environment. We’ll provide you with all the induction and ongoing training that you need, to become an amazing mentor. And throughout your experience, we’ll be on hand to support you with all aspects of the mentoring relationship.
- Provide 1:1 social, emotional and practical support to a young person
- Meet with the young person regularly, usually once a week during school hours or alternatively in the community
- Support with goal setting, providing help and guidance, being a role model and a listening ear
- Activities vary depending on the individual mentoring relationship, however full support and training will be provided

As a volunteer, you will receive:
