Our Executive Summary on the Evaluation of Volunteers Supporting Families project : September 2015
Volunteering Matters’ ground breaking Volunteers Supporting Families (VSF) service stemmed from its Volunteers in Child Protection (ViCP) programme which started in 2004 and is offered as an additional resource for social care teams in local authorities.
In 2013 Volunteering Matters was awarded two years’ funding from the Department for Education (DfE) to set up 7 new projects across the country. The Local Authority Areas, Liverpool City Council, North and South Tyneside, Sheffield City Council, LB Lambeth, RB Greenwich and Croydon, were selected mainly on the basis of need.
