Involving young people in supporting the health and care of others is proven to have positive benefits to patients, the community and young volunteers. Volunteering Matters, in partnership with the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services (NCVYS) and the National Association of Voluntary Services Managers (NAVSM), were commissioned by NHS England’s Active Communities Programme to undertake a programme of work to support the development of youth volunteering and social action in health and care.
This report aims to share our learning from this programme and the steps needed to improve youth volunteering with the health & social care sectors.
