The key aims of the project are to:

  • Educate peers on the issues of sexual exploitation, domestic abuse, honour based violence and gang grooming
  • Lobby for changes to social policy and practice on these issues promoting young people’s voice
  • Raise awareness in the wider community on these issues

We are Astra Toolkit

WASSUP have designed a toolkit, which female volunteers use in 90 minute sessions in schools across Suffolk. The toolkit presents a series of difficult scenarios based on the life of fictional character Astra.

Patrick is the brother of Astra, and it’s his character that forms the basis of the male toolkit. Like Astra, ‘We Are Patrick’ uses film, spoken verse, imagery and flashcards created by volunteers to journey young people though decision-making scenarios based on fictional characters.
