Stepping Stones is an exciting new project in Milton Keynes funded by Bucks, Luton and Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group (BLMK CCG). We work in partnership with Service Six to support children and young people aged between 8 and 25 years old transition from inpatients mental health services into their Milton Keynes communities.
Often transitioning out of inpatients mental health services can be an isolating and lonely time. It can make children and young people feel scared and unwell, especially if they don’t feel they have enough skills to move on. That’s where Stepping Stones can really make a difference. We recruit Volunteer Mentors to support children and young people set their own goals. As a Volunteer Mentor, you will help to find opportunities that are available in education and employment, making sure that the right training is available for children and young people to develop skills.
Our aim is to help children and young people in transition to thrive, to have a voice through peer support and helping other young people in Milton Keynes to lead change by being at the heart of their community.
If you would like to get involved as a Volunteer Mentor, we would love to hear from you.
