Learning for Life Together is an intergenerational oral history and social action project, linking older people (aged 50+) with a class of young people at a school near Dundry Slopes in Bristol. The group will share experiences of the local area, and will plan and deliver a number of activities/events with the children.

This project is part of Bristol Ageing Better (BAB), which is a partnership of individuals and organisations working together to reduce isolation and loneliness among older people in Bristol.

The project aims to increase the number of older people in Bristol who are able to contribute to their community through volunteering. It also aims to improve life for older people by empowering them to design and deliver local services, and reducing social isolation and loneliness.

We are looking for people aged 50+ who are interesting in helping with any of the following:

  • Collecting information about the local area
  • Visiting the school
  • Planning events/activities
  • Taking photos/making posters, etc.
  • Questionnaires

Full training and support will be given and travel expenses reimbursed. If you are interested, or know someone who might be, please contact us.
