EVS (European Voluntary Service) is an international volunteer program funded by the European Commission. It enables all young people legally resident in Europe, aged between 18 and 30 years, to carry out an international volunteer service in an organisation or in a public body in Europe, Africa, Asia or South America for a period ranging from 2 to 12 months.
It provides the reimbursement of travel expenses and complete coverage of the costs of food and accommodation for the international volunteer. Within our Full-Time Volunteering Programme we have a number of EVS projects which are Co Funded by the European Commission. These projects typically run for a period of 2 years and each project has a different focus.
Project Partners
We have a number of international partners who we engage in our different projects who send young people to participate in our activities in the UK. This increases the reach of our project, and helps to break down cultural barriers.
Our EVS Full Time Volunteers can take part in a variety of activities supported by our Volunteering Matters Hubs across the UK. We also work with Share Scotland in Edinburgh who also hosts volunteers. We are always on the look out for new ways to collaborate whether that be organisations in the UK who would like to host full time EVS volunteers, or organisations in Europe who would like to send volunteers to our projects.
