Our Development officer Gill was on BBC Radio Tees to talk Sporting Chance!

In an item about a rise in the number of people aged 55 and over taking part in sport and exercise, Gill was interviewed about our Sporting Chance project which focuses on reducing isolation and encourages men over 50 to get physically active.

Gill chatted to presenter Mike Parr about the activities on offer from walking football to volleyball and the benefits of taking part. She told listeners that one participant had made 50 new mates since coming along to the sessions.

Listen to the full interview here at 1 hour 32 minutes into the programme.

Sporting Chance is running in Middlesbrough and Stockton on Tees and launched in Sheffield last year thanks to support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery. If you’d like to get involved, get in touch via the project page!
