If you can knit, you can make RSVP’s Trauma Teds. As the name suggests, knitting is sent to children who have suffered, or are suffering, some kind of trauma. Trauma Teds from the North East bring a ray of hope to children across the world. You may be knitting teddies for the local Fire Brigade to give to children who may have lost their possessions in a house fire. Or your creations may be sent further afield to conflcit hit regions like Ukraine, Kosovo or Sudan.
We recruit, train and support volunteers. Volunteering Matters’ knitting volunteers usually knit for charities – they may create garments, blankets, puppets, poppies or hats, for example, for the direct support of charity beneficiaries, or they may knit items such as decorations or fashion items to sell and donate the proceeds to their group’s chosen charity.
