Research & Online Admin Support Volunteer (non-geographical role – online only.)

Everyone in the UK should have the opportunity to thrive. So, we bring people together to overcome some of society’s most complex issues through the power of volunteering.

We partner with communities to overcome adversity, tackling social isolation and loneliness, improving health, developing skills and opportunity, and making sure young people can lead change.

And we turn local knowledge and energy into action and progress, building stronger communities and a better future for all.

Purpose of the role

This role does not require a DBS Check. This role is essential in helping us reach older isolated people across the UK. In these challenging times, we have had to adapt our face to face services to help older people connect with others by offering telephone befriending & online activities. We have a growing group of activities that older people can access in our project ‘Getting Together Matters’, which brings meaningful connections to those who need it most and opportunities to get people online by helping with IT.

We are seeking volunteers to support over a time frame of 2-3 weeks & opportunities to continue further for those who want to. The 3 weeks are split into phases, you will be working in a team, and you will be helping us reach people who are currently struggling with few opportunities to connect. You will have training, a clear organised structure, and the chance to see your research turn into actively helping people engage at this very challenging time.

Time frame

November for 3 weeks, time to be arranged during the week – approx 5-8 hours a week at a time that suits you

Responsibilities and duties may include:

Key Duties

  • Identifying Local Heath & Social Care leads in your area
  • Identify Social Prescribers in your chosen area
  • Promote Getting Together Matters
  • Share findings with Team
  • Keep in touch with Project Manager

Key attributes

  • IT Proficient
  • Reliable
  • Organised
  • Socially responsible

The role description is intended to include the broad range of responsibilities and requirements of the volunteering post. As our services are changing, all of the time there will be regular opportunities for you to change the nature of your volunteering or change to supporting other services in our area to help you have a good experience while you are volunteering with us.

Volunteers are the cornerstone of our work with vulnerable people in our local communities and we are grateful that you are offering your time to help us to make a difference.
