IT support for Older People – (by telephone/ home-based)

Purpose of the role
To help older people get online, talk people through starting on a tablet or iPad – and getting people on to online activities to reduce isolation.
This role requires a DBS and you will need to be available during the day for 3-6 months, ad hoc with the expectation of speaking with someone for 1-4 hours to help support knowledge & confidence.
Responsibilities and duties may include:
- Supporting older people to use a Tablet device
- Supporting older people to access the internet
- Supporting older people to access online activities
- Support the Getting together Matters Team to reduce loneliness and isolation.
- Keep in touch with Project Manager
- Aged 18 and over
- IT Proficient
- Patient & understanding
- Socially responsible
The role description is intended to include the broad range of responsibilities and requirements of the volunteering post. As our services are changing, all of the time there will be regular opportunities for you to change the nature of your volunteering or change to supporting other services in our area to help you have a good experience while you are volunteering with us.
