Get Out Get Active (GOGA) is an exciting programme that supports disabled and non-disabled people to enjoy being active together. Funded by Spirit of 2012, the programme is focused on getting some of the UK’s least active people moving more through fun and inclusive activities.

GOGA partner Forth Valley Disability Sport is a local charity based in Stirling who provide sporting opportunities to children, young people and adults with physical, sensory and learning disabilities. We operate throughout the Forth Valley area.

We are looking for a Volunteer Helper to assist the coach for 2-3 hours per week and ensure that sporting activities are carried out safely. Your responsibilities will include

  • Helping small groups of participants to achieve the aims of the session, either practicing skills or playing a game
  • Organising and supervising each session and ensuring the area is safe
  • Completing a register of those attending along with details of any particular needs and emergency information
  • Being aware of any particular needs of the participants (i.e. level of fitness, medical conditions, physical, learning or sensory disabilities)
  • Following policy and procedures of Forth Valley Disability Sport including accident reporting, health and safety


  • Volunteers must be over 18 years old
  • Willing to complete a criminal record check (DBS)
  • Able to provide references
  • Interest in working with younger people
  • A strong interest in sport and helping disabled children and adults
  • Good organisational, time keeping, communication and people skills
  • Enthusiastic, honest reliable and trustworthy skills
  • Able to give a commitment of 2/3 hours per week
