About the opportunity
The Futures project aims to increase the confidence and raise the aspirations of young people aged 15 – 25 with special educational needs and disabilities. Volunteer mentors provide support to the young people to identify and explore post-education activities for leisure, learning, employment and volunteering in their community.
We need volunteers who can offer a couple of hours of their time each week to mentor the young people as they make choices about their futures, raising aspirations by exploring together the young person’s skills interests and abilities. No experience is needed but patience, the ability to listen and a sense of humour are useful skills.
- Interest in working with young people with additional support needs
- To be aged 16+
- Will need a criminal record check (DBS)
- Able to provide two references
