charity times award 2016 nomination volunteering matters

Volunteering Matters has been shortlisted for the ‘Community’ category for the 2016 Charity Times Awards.

Laura Doughty, Director of External Affairs, said: “We are delighted to have our work recognised by the Charity Times Award judges. We firmly believe that high impact social action volunteer programmes can transform lives, to the benefit of the individuals we support, the volunteers we work with, and society as a whole. Our focus is on grassroots community-based work that benefits vulnerable people across the UK, so we are pleased to be shortlisted for the community category.”

Our application told the story of our work across all four pillars: young people, disabled people, families and older people. We highlighted the success of our flagship programmes, including Full-Time Volunteering, Positive Futures London, Sex Matters Too, Grandmentors, Help at Hand Befrienders and Volunteers Supporting Families.

The Charity Times Awards celebrates best practice in the UK charity and not-for-profit sector. Now in its 17th year, the awards are run by Charity Times Magazine. This year’s winners will be announced at the Charity Times Awards Gala Dinner and Ceremony on 28 September 2016 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London.
