Updates on what our projects and people have been up to – across England, Wales and Scotland.
Our new project for women aged 16-35 across Gwent who have learning difficulties or autism, empowering them to recognise sexual harassment and abuse We’ve made the final shortlist for the National Mentoring Awards 2019 with our Grandmentors programme! We’ve got a new opportunity for Norwich volunteers to make a massive different to a young person’s life. Thanks to the Freemasons Grandmentors Milton Keynes will reach even more young people leaving care. At this year’s AGM we wanted to recognise the incredible individual efforts made by our volunteers, and the impact they make every day up and down the UK. We developed a new set of Volunteer Awards, to cover the full range of our work We’ve launched a new edition of our toolkit aimed at encouraging more young people in to volunteering within health and social care The 1st of October marks the International Day of Older Persons and we’d like to take the opportunity to celebrate the 8,700 older and retired people who share their time and talents each year by volunteering with us. Our project WASSUP has won the Third Sector Award for Volunteer Team of the Year! Mind Matters have been shortlisted in the Advice and Guidance category of the Children & Young People Now Awards 2018! Staff from People’s Postcode Lottery went to visit Sporting Chance in Stockton to see first-hand the sort of projects their funding supports.
