We have launched many amazing new projects in the past year, all made possible by talented and dedicated volunteers across the UK. We were delighted to shine a spotlight on some of them at the Volunteering Matters 2017 Annual General Meeting which took place on the 28th of September.

We were delighted to welcome Philip Glanville, Mayor of Hackney, and Cllr Jon Burke to the Volunteering Matters head office on Friday the 15th of September, to hear all about our projects and discuss them with volunteers and staff.

SAFE Sex for Everyone this Sexual Health Week

Volunteering Matters’ SAFE (‘Sexual Awareness for Everyone’) project will help improve the personal safety and sexual health of young women (aged 16 to 35) with learning difficulties through peer led workshops and support, through the production and distribution of SAFE materials.

Positive Futures London volunteer inspires young minds

Homerton Library opened its doors to emerging talent from across Hackney last night for Insightful Minds – an evening of literary inspired music and spoken word, performed for and by local young people and organised by our amazing Positive Futures London volunteer, Shinelle.

Employee volunteers ‘discover their impact’

For the eighth consecutive year, in celebration of Discovery Communications’ annual ‘Discover Your Impact Day’, our Employee Volunteering team arranged 23 one-off team volunteering projects across London for 500 employees.
