“It has been the making of me to get out and volunteer.”

More than 15,000 people over the age of 50 volunteer with us across the UK. Many lead their own projects through the Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP). Today we’re celebrating the work of RSVP in Coventry (funded by the BIG Lottery Fund), who have helped so many volunteer groups get started and keep going.

RSVP volunteers in Coventry provide so much – men’s cookery clubs, mental health peer support groups, walking clubs and Asian womens’ groups – to name but a few. They made these films to be used as tools by local groups in Coventry, but we feel there’s no better introduction to the power and legacy of their voluntary work. Take a few minutes to watch one and find out more about what makes RSVP, and everyone who’s a part of it, special.

Take a look at the introductory film above, and then explore the four further films below – focusing on; volunteering and the community, with mental health, within the Asian community, and with YOU. And, of course, you can watch all the films on our Youtube channel.
