Purpose of the role

The main focus of work will be on the Welcome Friends project, working primarily throughout Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil. As part of wider programme of regional work that supports social inclusion, the project will recruit, train and support volunteers to deliver befriending activities in the home and community to older people who are lonely and/or isolated.

Work on other projects could also include our young people’s volunteering, social action projects, intergenerational schools volunteering and Full Time Volunteering.

Appointment to this position is subject to an enhanced disclosure check (DBS). Having a conviction will not necessarily cause a bar to employment.
